Celebrating Our Students' Sporting Success
We are proud to recognise the outstanding sporting achievements of our Blackburn High students, who continue to demonstrate dedication, perseverance and excellence across a wide range of sports outside of school. Congratulations to the following students on their impressive accomplishments so far this year.

  • Year 11 – Akeem (Football/Soccer): Akeem completed a two-week trial with Manchester City in England earlier this year and has since joined Melbourne City's A-League squad for full-time pre-season training. He also represented Australia in the Under 17 World Cup Qualifiers and is in contention for selection in the Joeys squad for the FIFA U17 World Cup later this year.
  • Year 11 – Zahara (Lacrosse): Zahara was selected to represent Australia in the U18s Aus Elite Lacrosse tournament in the USA. She competed against American teams earlier in July, with the Australian side finishing 3rd in their pool.
  • Year 10 – Jackson (Diving): Jackson has been selected to represent Team Victoria in diving. Congratulations on this fantastic achievement.
  • Year 8 – Edward (Cross Country): Edward has been selected for Team Vic, and will represent the state at the National Cross Country Championships in Ballarat in August. This selection comes after an outstanding cross country season, including a sixth-place finish at the Victorian State Championships.
  • Year 8 – Zara (Short Track Speed Skating): Zara represented Victoria at the Duke Trophy in Brisbane, competing across two days of racing. Victoria claimed the overall state title, with Zara making a valuable contribution to the team's success.
  • Year 7 – Morgan (Gymnastics): Morgan represented Victoria at the National Gymnastics Championships in Sydney, where her team won the bronze medal. Morgan also earned an individual silver medal in the Floor event. We wish her all the best for the National Club Championships later this year.
  • Year 7 – Archie (Baseball): Archie has enjoyed an exceptional year in baseball, helping the Melbourne Rangers win the Victorian Little League Major title before competing at the National Championships, where he was named Most Valuable Player (MVP). He also earned MVP honours at the District Baseball Association Winter Tournament after another outstanding performance.
  • Year 8 Boys Netball and Senior Girls Hockey: Congratulations to our Year 8 Boys Netball and Senior Girls Hockey teams on progressing through to the State competition. We wish the teams every success in the next stage.

Our students continue to achieve remarkable success in sport at regional, state, national and international levels. We congratulate each of these students on their hard work and commitment and look forward to celebrating more sporting successes throughout the year.

We love celebrating the achievements of our students both in and out of school. If your child has a sporting achievement you'd like our school community to recognise, please feel free to share it with us.
