We value students’ achievements and learning and have additional staff to support them in reaching their learning goals. Fundamental to a student’s success is their emotional and social Wellbeing.
Blackburn High School employs a Student Wellbeing Team which is made up of:
- Student Wellbeing Coordinator
- Mental Health Practitioner
- Social Worker
- Psychology Intern's
- Assistant Principal
- School Nurse
- DET Student Support Service Officers
The Wellbeing Team offers a range of supports including:
- Case management (Intake, referrals and ongoing support)
- Social and emotional support
- School refusal
- Grief and loss counselling
- Family issues
- Social difficulties and relationships
- Stress and anxiety management
The Wellbeing Team supports students with the above issues through:
- Resilience training
- Transition programs
- Online counselling platform (Wellbeing Warriors)
