70th Year Anniversary Concert and Royal South Street

70th Year Anniversay Concert
It has been a celebratory week for Music at Blackburn High School. The 70th anniversary concert – Illumination was a gala event at The Round on Monday night and was an outstanding success. Over 170 current and former students performed to a full house presenting performances that ranged from String Quartet to full Orchestra, choir and soloists, House Performing Arts to Jazz bands and everything in between. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on what our past has been, how good our present is and excitement about what the future holds.

Royal South Street
Last week a number of groups performed at the Royal South Street Eisteddfod in Ballarat and represented Blackburn High School with distinction. Both the Junior and Intermediate Jazz ensembles won their sections. Junior Strings finished 2nd and Novice Band received an Honourable Mention. Well done to all involved.
