We value students’ achievements and learning and have additional staff in place to support students in reaching their learning goals. Fundamental to a student’s success is their emotional and social wellbeing.

Wellbeing Team

We value students’ achievements and learning and have additional staff in place to support students in reaching their learning goals. Fundamental to a student’s success is their emotional and social wellbeing. Blackburn High School employs a Student Wellbeing Team which is made up of:

  • Student Wellbeing Coordinator (full time)
  • Mental Health Practitioner
  • Assistant Principal
  • School Nurse (full time)
  • DEECD Student Support Service Officers (part time)

The Wellbeing Team offers a range of supports including:

  • Case management (Intake, referrals and ongoing support)
  • Social and emotional support
  • School refusal
  • Grief and loss counselling
  • Family issues
  • Social difficulties and relationships
  • Stress and anxiety management

The Wellbeing Team supports students with the above issues through:

  • Resilience training
  • Transition programs
  • Online counselling platform (Wellbeing Warriors)
