Sports Captain’s outstanding leadership recognised

Rebecca Taylor, Year 12 Sports Captain, has been awarded the prestigious Pierre de Coubertin Award by the Victorian Olympic Council for her outstanding contribution to Sports Leadership.
Setting an example of Olympic values

The Victorian Olympic Council’s Pierre de Coubertin Award is named after the founder of the Modern Olympic Games, Baron Pierre de Coubertin. The award aims to recognise students who demonstrate attributes consistent with the fundamental aims of the Olympic movement, with a particular emphasis on participation and commendable sporting behaviour.

The 2014 recipient is Blackburn High School student, Rebecca Taylor. Rebecca has been an outstanding contributor to the interschool sport program at Blackburn High School. She has taken on leadership roles and is our 2014 School Sports Captain. She always participates in sporting activities with enthusiasm and displays great sportsmanship, whether winning or losing. She maintains a positive attitude at all times and is a fantastic role model for younger students.
