The Blackburn High School community was pleased to officially open its new covered Sports facility on 29th May 2019.

The Victorian Member for Box Hill, Mr Paul Hamer, declared the facility open, highlighting how welcome it would be for all students of the school, providing both more classroom space and more playing space in both winter and summer conditions.  These views were reiterated by the other speakers – School Principal Mrs Joanna Alexander, Health & PE Leader Ms Ailsa Davidson, School Council Chairman Mr Geoff Hugo, the school captains, sports captains and the School Council student representatives (pictured).  Mr Hamer also praised the school for its well-known sporting excellence and its terrific school spirit.

The building of the facility was the result of several years of work initiated and overseen by the school’s Business Manager, Mrs Nicole Taylor, who was warmly thanked by all those present.
