Congratulations to Jason Ziino, the music students and staff from the South Street Music competition which are currently being held in Ballarat following 4 years of COVID interruptions. The Blackburn High School bands have performed well, but more importantly, they have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to perform together.

 

“A great first day for the students at South Street. It has been invaluable for them to be back performing here. The wind bands have been able to perform, get feedback, see other schools, and get a clearer picture of how well they are progressing. They have been good ambassadors for BHS and the results haven’t been bad either. 

 

Novice Band – 2nd place 74/100

Junior Band – 3rd place 80/100

Concert Band – 88.5/100

Symphonic Band 1st place 94/100”
