Getting students up and ready in the morning is usually quite a task for families but not so for the students attending our early morning fitness sessions in the Gym each morning -Monday to Friday.

Students arrive bright and early at 7am for their early morning Cross Fit training.  CrossFit is a sport which is becoming more and more popular each year around the world. In fact, The CrossFit Games which take place once per year in the USA were held recently. There is an individual competition for men and women. The winner of this competition is crowned ‘The Fittest Man/Woman on Earth’ and the 2017 Woman’s Champion and Runner up were both Australian!

The sessions are open to all students in any year level. The only prerequisites are  a positive attitude towards learning new things and working hard.

Mr Cairns, the teacher in charge,  is  passionate about fitness and enjoys working with students who have no experience with fitness/sport and also those who play sport and are active outside of school. All workouts can be altered to meet the needs of any student so everyone who comes along is challenged.

CrossFit is competitive.  Students compete against other students to either complete a workout the quickest time or do the most repetitions in a set time. While it is competitive  students work collaboratively and really encourage their peers to do the best they can and achieve scores and times they didn’t think they were capable of.

Challenging the mind and the body is an excellent way to start the day and keeping fit is essential for a healthy, happy, active life.
