Blackburn High School Alumni Emma Cook achieved a remarkable result in the international Young Chef Olympiad 2017, held in India recently. Representing Box Hill Institute, where she is currently studying Certificate 111 in Commercial Cookery, Emma is fulfilling a dream to become a Chef. Emma worked under enormous pressure, competing in four different Indian cities against 44 other nations and, for the final round, preparing 20 dishes in two hours!
Emma has also competed,with distinction, in Nestle Chef’s Hat Award Cook Off and WorldSkils National competition in 2016. She secured a special recognition prize and certificate as one of the national finalists of Les Toques Blanches Award For Excellence competition, and she competed in the Chain Des Rotisseurs.
We wish Emma every success as she pursues her dream to travel the world, work with talented chef’s, experience and cook different types of food and develop her own cooking style.
