General Information
Welcome to the Blackburn High School web-site.
Blackburn High School was established in 1956. It provides an excellent general education for students in Years 7 - 10 and offers The Victorian Certificate of Education, (V.C.E.) for students in Years 11 and 12. Its students have established a proud record of academic success for many years. The majority are successful in gaining university entrance.
The school has a highly regarded music program that provides a pathway to careers in performance music. Participation in this program also gives students the opportunity to develop their musical skills for their own sake. There are four streams in the instrumental program: orchestral, concert band, jazz and choral.
